Barbara Spaid, Director



Barbara Spaid was born in Manchester, Connecticut, growing up in Hampshire County and graduating from Hampshire High School in 1984.

While attending Marshall University, she was introduced to working with at risk youth, starting as a Relief Child Care Worker for Children’s Home Society of West Virginia located in Huntington, West Virginia. Continuing her interest with Children’s Home Society, she relocated back to Hampshire County to work full time at the local Children’s Shelter in Romney.
Mrs. Spaid later expanded her career working at Grafton School located in Berryville, Virginia, where she stayed employed for 15 years. There she worked a variety of different jobs starting as direct care worker up to a direct supervisor with youth that were diagnosed with Autism, Behavior Disorder, Emotionally Disturbed and troubled teenagers.
