Janet Haines, Director

 

 Janet Haines was born and raised in Cumberland County, New Jersey. She has a Masters of Art in Criminal Law and is now currently enrolled at Glenville State College. Ms. Haines has over twenty-nine in the correctional field. She began her career in New Jersey Department of Corrections in 1983 as a Correctional Officer. She was promoted to Firearm Instructor and Instructor at the New Jersey Academy. In 1992, she had left New Jersey and began to work at the West Virginia Industrial Home for Youth as a Correctional Officer. She has earned numerous certificates which included being an instructor of CPR/First Aid, Firearms instructor, and Trainer for Trainer instructor. After eight years as a Correctional Officer, Ms. Haines accepted a position as a Case Manager. She was promoted to a Unit Manager and in 2010 she was promoted to the Facility Director of the Dr. Harriet B. Jones Treatment Center. In 2011, she accepted a position at Lorrie Yeager Jr. Juvenile Center as the Director. Ms. Haines is also the author of the book “Living with the Elephant”, which was published in 2007.
