Facility Directors Overview 2013
Northern Regional Juvenile Center is a hardware secure detention center that is co-ed and has a licensed capacity of 19 youth. The facility accepts juveniles from around the state, but mostly from our six catchment counties.
In January of 2013 we received a $26,100.00 grant from the Christian Fellowship Foundation for our religious services program. This money is allocated for bibles, vacation bible school supplies, and incentives for residents who are in need of clothing, shoes, etc.
10 Residents received their G.E.D. and 1 resident received a diploma.
A. New central air conditioning was installed in July 2013.
B. The loan for a new roof was secured and G & W Company will be installing it.
C. Increased staffing by 18 people and I am still hiring.
Goals for 2013
Physical Plant - New roof will be installed in early fall of this year.
The position of Assistant Director was added this year and a full-time nurse was hired.
We hired a full-time nurse in August 2013.
We are also interviewing for a CC II position.
We are beginning the process of renovating our dayroom to be the female commitment dormitory.
We are also beginning construction on two (2) new classrooms for the female vocational program
Continue to upgrade services for all residents.
